The Advanced Learning Company is managed by me, David King
I have been a teacher since 1974, when I started a three year teacher training course at Bede College, University of Durham studying English.
WHY I TEACH
When I was a child I did not like going to school, though I loved learning. I spent my childhood reading and playing games and thinking. I was told I would be good at teaching but I always said I would never be a teacher.
However when I was about 21 I began to think that maybe I didn't have to teach in the same boring and rigid way that I had been taught.. So I went to teacher training college with the idea that maybe I could make learning ENJOYABLE, I'm still trying to do this!
WHAT I DO NOW
I am Director of Operations for Language Link London. www.languagelink.co.uk. I teach. I teacher train, I manage and whatever else needs to be done.
In my spare time I manage The Advanced Learning Company : )

Post Graduate. Diploma in Applied Linguistics, NELP
MA Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, Institute of Education, London
Phd (Unfinished) Quality Improvement in English Language Schools. Institute of Education, London.
Certificate in Business English Teaching.
